Cranberry rosemary citrus martini – bring on the holiday spirit by shaking up these bright and cheerful, rosemary infused, citrus martinis.
It’s a little after noon, and I am doing martini shots by myself, next to an unfinished cup of coffee, as I’m trying to capture and synthesize the scent and flavor of Christmas trees, and oranges into a festive cocktail.
I’m making a quick stop here to share the result with you, in time for tomorrow’s celebration!
Nothing reminds of me of New Year’s Eve more than the smell of Christmas trees blended with the aroma of oranges. I know some of you may smile and remember – when we were little, it was only around New Year when we had the luxury of eating oranges! I thought of this recently, as my family and I watched the movie Christmas Oranges. I tried to explain to my kids that it really was a rare treat to have fresh oranges once a year, but they just looked at me with blank stares, unable to fathom the idea 🙂
So after some experimentation, I am quite happy with the result. I used a simple syrup infused with fresh rosemary which has a strong piney scent to perfume the drink, freshly squeezed clementine juice, and orange-flavored liqueur for a more concentrated citrus flavor. Unsweetened cranberry juice for a deep ruby color and fresh cranberries complete the festive look! It’s cheerful, it’s fresh and citrusy, not too sweet with a hint of pines, and oranges.
And so my friends, I raise my glass to you, and wish you a fantastic year ahead, full of unbelievable, magical experiences! Thank you for your loyalty, your support, and kind words! ❤
Cheers, and a Happy New 2017!!
